The popular Santa Cruz Flea Market, located at the site of the former Skyview Drive-in Theater on Soquel Drive, is owned and operated by Goodwill Central Coast. Vendors set up their wares in the early hours of the weekend and shoppers flock to the market to find everything from area rugs and antiques to vintage clothing and children’s toys. Get there early when the real treasure hunters arrive to score the best buys, do some serious people watching, and get a dose of nostalgia sifting through old trinkets you never knew existed. Bring lots of one and five dollar bills.

Santa Cruz Flea Market is open 3 days a week. Our gates open Friday at 7 am-1 pm , Saturday at 6 am- 3 pm, and Sunday at 5:30 am- 3 pm. All hours are weather permitting.

Fees

Our fees are as follows:

Buyers

Friday: $1.00 per person
Saturday: $1.50 per person
Sunday: $2.50 per person

All days: Children under 10 years of age FREE. Anyone 13 or younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Vendors

Friday: $20.00 per space
Saturday: $25.00 per space. SPECIAL: Every “First Saturday” of each month, just $20.00 per space!
Sunday: Regular Space $40.00, Large or corner space $50.00 & up.
An additional $5.00 reservation fee or request fee may apply to space rents on Saturday or Sunday.

Flea Market Rules for Buyers and Vendors

Animals

With the exception of trained service dogs, no dogs or puppies are permitted on our grounds.

As of January 1, 2012, the sale, display for sale or adoption, or offering for sale or adoption of ANY live animal is prohibited at the Flea Market. This is in accordance with California State Law and our rules. No exceptions will be considered.

Alcohol

No alcoholic beverages may be brought in, sold or consumed by any individual (vendor or buyer). This is the law! Violators will be evicted without refund.

Regular vendors (more than 2 times per year) are required to have a valid Resale Permit from the State Board of Equalization. Produce and food vendors must have a current valid Santa Cruz County Health Permit.

In accordance with Santa Cruz County Ordinance, vendors may NOT provide plastic bags to customers.  The only exception to this rule is for the sale of produce or restaurant carry-out.

How to make reservations

We accept reservations for Saturday and Sunday sellers. Reservations must be made in person at our office on the Flea Market grounds. Our office hours are:

Friday: 7 am until Noon
Saturday: 9:30 am until 3 pm
Sunday: 10:30 am until 3 pm

Payment for reservations

Weekly Reservations must be paid in full in advance, and there is an extra $5.00 reservation fee added to the space rental fee, making a Saturday reservation $30.00 total, Sunday $45.00 regular or $55.00 large/corner. All transactions are cash only. Sorry, no checks or credit cards accepted.

All vendors holding a reservation ticket must be on their space no later than 8:30 am on Saturday and 7 am on Sunday. Reserved spaces not claimed by the deadline may be subject to resale, without refund. Bring your reservation ticket with you!

Reservations may be made no more than 7 days in advance. For example, if you wish to reserve a space for a Sunday, you may reserve no earlier than the Sunday prior to the date you wish to sell.

Quarterly reservations

Saturday quarterly reservations are available, at a cost of $50.00 and up per space, which does not include the daily space use (currently $25.00 per space per use on Saturday).

Sunday quarterly reservations are available. The cost varies by space size and location. See management for further details.

Again, the quarterly fee does not include the weekly space rent, which is paid at the gate each day of usage. The quarterly fee is to be paid in full before the beginning of the calendar quarter. Vendors holding quarterly reservations are subject to the same cut-off times (Saturday at 8:30 am and Sunday at 7 am) as weekly pre-paid reservation holders.

Trash

Vendors are responsible for removing ALL trash and unsold items from our grounds. This includes, but is not limited to, the boxes that contained the vendors’ items, “free stuff,” packing materials, as well as any items unsold at the end of the day. Violators will be charged a fee for the first offense, and repeated offenses will lead to suspension or complete discontinuation of selling privileges.

Vendor parking

Spaces are rented with room for ONE vehicle and goods. Vendors* may NOT park extra vehicles anywhere on our property, nor may their helpers park anywhere on our property, even with paid buyer’s admission ticket. We have limited parking facilities and need the parking for the people who buy your goods. Vendors found with extra vehicles on our property will be subject to immediate towing of that vehicle, at the vehicle owner’s expense.

*Exceptions may be granted to vendors with physical infirmities or disabilities. Each exception is on a case-by-case basis at management’s discretion and MUST be cleared with the manager before doing so. Otherwise, vehicles may be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense.

Vacating

Our rules require that all vendors vacate the grounds no later than 2 pm on Fridays, 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday. A $25.00 “late fee” will be assessed to all vendors remaining on the grounds at 5 pm Saturday or Sunday. All trash and leftover unsold goods, boxes, and packing materials must be taken away by the vendor. Violators will be warned and cited, and habitual offenders will be suspended and/or fined for trash removal.

What You May Not Sell

Sale of any counterfeit or copyright-infringing items is prohibited. Sale of alcoholic beverages, drugs and drug paraphernalia is not allowed. (Guns and/or ammunition are prohibited.) You also may not sell any wild animal or bird parts, including but not limited to taxidermy mounts, antlers, horns, skins, hides or any parts thereof. Pornography must NOT be displayed openly, but must be boxed or screened from view. Other items are at the Flea Market manager’s discretion. If you have a question about whether your items are permitted, please ask.

No live animals including but not limited to cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, or reptiles maybe be sold or displayed for sale or offered for sale or adoption anywhere on the Flea Market property.

We reserve the right to refuse service or admission to anyone, for any reason. Any violation of our rules or disturbance of the peace on our grounds will result in immediate eviction without refund.

Rain policy

No rainchecks or refunds given.

If you have a weekly pre-paid reservation, you may move it forward one week in case of rain for the same day (Saturday or Sunday) and space you have reserved. To do so you must contact the Flea Market on the day you have reserved, prior to the cut-off time noted on your reservation ticket (Saturday 8:30 am, Sunday 7 am).
