Embrace your inner cowpoke! Celebrate California Rodeo Salinas on July 21-24 by roping in great deals at GCC

California Rodeo Salinas began in 1911 as the Wild West Show held at an old racetrack, with local cowboys and cowgirls riding bucking horses. It lasted for a week, ushering in the nickname “Big Week” that is still used today. Through the years the rodeo has grown in stature and popularity. It is now a major stop on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association circuit and was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2008.

The California Rodeo and it’s related “Big Week” events are put on by more than 1,400 volunteers through the California Rodeo Association. The event not only has a huge economic impact on local businesses, but also benefits local nonprofits through donations, and gives Salinas a sense of pride and identity.

Goodwill Central Coast relates to that mission and the idea of connectivity within a community. Every donation and purchase helps strengthen our neighborhoods by empowering people to work, providing resources, and preserving our beautiful Central Coast landscape.

Embrace your inner cowpoke and celebrate your rodeo roots from July 21-24 by roping in some great deals at GCC’s Salinas stores. We will highlight some western wear and our prices will make you say “yee-haw!” Or get a headstart and visit www.shopgoodwill.com for an even bigger selection — from 10-gallon hats to some proper boots. Everything but the horse!

Remember, together we can all make a difference in our community. Support Goodwill and California Rodeo Salinas.
